My fishing buddy Shane and I have had plenty of events like this, albeit never with a fish as large as the one you described. It's a shitty feeling, but makes those caught all the better.<br /><br />I'm sitting here, stuck late at work on one of my last nights before moving back to Montana, and I have to say the night has been made considerably less shitty by catching up on your blog.
